Progressing Ballet Technique is an innovative program developed by the highly regarded Royal Academy Dance Teacher and Examiner Marie Walton-Mahon. It has been designed for students to understand the depth of training muscle memory in achieving their personal best in classical ballet.

It is difficult for students to feel what muscles initiate the correct alignment in ballet training. However, as the fit ball is continually mobile under the students’ body it gives the students a sense of posture and weight–placement whilst feeling each correct muscle groups. Each exercise has been developed with care and guidance. The class is danced to classical ballet music to enhance the experience and train musicality. At Bluebirds students from RAD Primary take one syllabus class a week and one progressing ballet technique class in order for them to fast track their training and achieve their personal best.

We also have a Progressing Ballet Technique class specially for adults. Click here for more
